How instructors earn on Dev Skill
A transparent walkthrough of revenue sharing, withdrawals, and coupons — how the earnings math works for a published course.
Money questions are usually answered with vague percentages, so let's do the opposite: a concrete walkthrough of how a course earns on Dev Skill, using a made-up but realistic ৳3,000 course and the numbers exactly as the dashboard shows them.
The revenue split
Every sale splits between you and the platform by the revenue-share percentage assigned when your course is approved — you see your exact percentage in the instructor dashboard, on the earnings page, at all times. There is no separate listing fee, no payment to publish, and no charge for application reviews. The platform share covers payment gateway costs, hosting, and the services around it.
| Line | Amount (BDT) |
|---|---|
| Course price | 3,000 |
| Coupon discount (if any) | − 300 |
| Net sale | 2,700 |
| Instructor share (assigned %) | 1,620 |
| Held for refund window, then withdrawable | 1,620 |
Coupons: your tool, your margin
Instructors create their own coupon codes — a fixed amount or a percentage, with usage limits and date windows. The discount comes out of the course price before the split, so a coupon is a marketing decision you own: run one for a launch week, keep the margin when demand finds you organically.
Getting paid
Earnings move through three states: held briefly while the refund window is open, locked, then withdrawable once they pass the minimum withdrawal threshold. Withdrawals are requested from the earnings page and paid to the account you set up — no fees from us, your bank's own receiving rules apply. There is no schedule you must hit; earnings wait until you request them.
That is the whole model. If teaching this way appeals to you, the instructor program explains what a course needs to pass review — the bar is real, and that is the point.
